ACCESS FLOOR SYSTEMS
DESCRIPTION
The system shall be Rigid Grid consisting of modular square panels, stringers and pedestals. Galvanised stringers and pedestal assemblies carefully bolted at 600mm centres shall form the Rigid Grid of the framework. Modular square panels shall then be supported equally along the edges of Rigid Grid. Bolting down the modular square panel to the Rigid Grid is not permitted.The main components of the system shall be as follows:
a) Modular square panel filled with lightweight cementitious material of sound deadening qualities and complying with the loading requirement as specified.
b) Galvanised steel stringers.
c) Pedestal assemblies.
The weight of the modular square panel shall not exceed 15kg per piece and shall be easily removable by one person with a manufacturer's approved lifting device and fully interchangeable except where cut. The stringers forming the Rigid Grid shall be 600mm in length, bolted with M6 thread-size screws in Electro-zinc plated finish, to the pedestal assemblies to achieve better strength and stability.
The system when completed shall be sturdy, rigid and free of rattles, squeaks and other vibrations. The floor shall achieve to an overall flatness of ±1.5mm over a 3m span and ±6mm over the whole area. It shall also be capable of accepting a concentrated load as specified over an area of 6.25cm square. The Rigid Grid System shall be constructed to a specified height with ±50mm vertical adjustment.
FEATURES
Concentrated Load
The access floor system shall be capable of accepting a point load over 25mm x 25mm area of (3.6kN/4.5kN/5.5kN/6.7kN) with a maximum deflection of 2mm.
Uniform Load
The access floor system shall be of accepting a uniform load of (12kN/m2 / 13kN/m2 / 14kN/m2/ 16kN2/m2) with a maximum deflection of 1.5mm. Dynamic Loads
The access floor shall sustain the following rolling loads with a maximum total permanent deformation of 1mm in the top surface. Wheels size

An impact load imposed on the floor system by dropping a 50kg mass from 900mm height onto a 25mm x 25mm square indenter shall not create structure failure. Pedestal Load
Pedestal shall be capable of accepting 22.5kN axial load without failure or loss of function Dimensional Tolerance
Panel squareness shall be within ±0.20mm. Panel dimensions shall be within ±0.20mm of nominal size. Flatness shall be equal to or less than 0.5mm. Fire Safety
The panels, without floor coverings, shall meet BS476 Part 6 & 7 and shall be non-combustible tested under BS476 Part 4. These indices shall not change when the panel is cut.
